I received the following warning: 'The wininet.dll file is linked to missing export shlwapi.dll:wnsprintfw'. What does it mean? I have been unable to load three programs: Arachnophilia 4.0, Sidekick 98 and Internet Explorer 3.02. I was told that shlwapi.dll is a component installed with Internet Explorer and may have been corrupted or replaced by something I've done recently.
So far I have reinstalled Internet Explorer, deleted shlwapi.dll and reinstalled it from a backup tape, but the three programs still did not load. What should I do?

Most instances of this problem occur when shlwapi.dll is overwritten by an older version than is required by Internet Explorer, which is itself used as a component by many programs. However, in your case, you appear to still be using Internet Explorer 3.0.
Our guess is that some other program you have installed has replaced some Internet Explorer components by later ones. In that case reinstalling Internet Explorer 3.0, either from scratch or from a backup tape, is the wrong thing to do. We think you need to bite the bullet and install a current version of Internet Explorer to solve this problem.
